I saw this idea mentioned in the previous year's idea list, but no one picked it up. So I was wondering if people still want to get this done.
I am interested in the project as I have used a setup scripting language called NSIS to create an installation wizard for a school project once, so I know how installation wizards work. For Windows, NSIS provides a pretty decent interface and being opensource I don't think we should look for anything else but for linux I think people would much rather prefer their own package manager rather than a custom setup wizard. So would a wizard make sense for Linux users? A better option might be just a straightforward installation script. --- 2014 Ideas: http://archesproject.org/ideas/ --- NSIS: http://nsis.sourceforge.net/Main_Page -- -- To post, send email to [email protected].
