Hi Lucy, just looking back through this, and regarding point 2: You're completely right, it would be nice to have coordinates on the location form map, just like already exists in the map view. It requires a bit of editing to the location.htm form itself as well as the location.js file, but shouldn't be too difficult for someone with the proper skills (they could inspect the map.htm and map.js files to see how the coordinate display is implemented there).
Because this has come up a couple of times--as well as the related (but functionally very different) concept of creating geometry by hand-typing lat/long coordinates--I've added two issues to the bit bucket repo (here <https://bitbucket.org/arches/arches3/issues/296/crud-location-add-coordinates-display-to> and here <https://bitbucket.org/arches/arches3/issues/296/crud-location-add-coordinates-display-to>) so that they are at least in the queue...
