Hi guys, I am currently trying to set up Arches to record the monuments in Bhutan; I have an 8Mb Windows server 2008 r2 on Google Cloud where the users will securely upload their data. I have installed the Arches system many times, and I am currently 'playing' with test data to ensure that things will run smoothly.
Unlike other users, who have a dataset to upload, this implementation is likely to have the users upload their data manually, making full use of the screens available. Anyway, I wish to bring to your attention a number of bugs - recently noted as issues in GitHub - where your applications will fall over: but also to show workarounds until these bugs have been sorted. You will at some stage be wanting to add Files and Documents using the File Upload screen. You are encouraged to Drag and Drop your files onto the file pad; but after you proceed through the four stages, when you come to save your record you will get a key error. (see issue https://github.com/archesproject/hip/issues/1). There is a workaround. Do not drag and drop your files; *click on the pad and select your file from the directory*.
