Hi David, The JSON that Adam provided specifies paint styles for lines only, which is probably at least one reason why you aren’t seeing anything on the map.
I tested and confirmed that the example I sent yesterday was working with Arches, so I think it will expedite your process to give it a try and see if it works for you rather than trying to write your own layer styles (which can be fraught with human error if one is not used to hand writing JSON).
