Hey Jude, Have you had a look in the Related Resources section of the person record?
When you use a resource_instance link it doesn’t know whether the model you’re linking to has a dedicated branch so it will create a record in the Related Resources Branch instead. This newly created link will take you back to the monument record when clicked on. THIS IS AN EXTERNAL EMAIL: do not click any links or open any attachments unless you trust the sender and were expecting the content to be sent to you Hey all, I'm wondering whether to begin using Related Resources to create relationships between resources. We are going to be moving to v5.1 in time for our public go-live in Mar 2021. We want, as part of this go-live, to include relationships between a Monument and a Person (Actor). To test it out, I just created the relationship between: Iron Age Settlement (Monument resource) + Gerhard Bersu (Person (Actor) resource) I only had to create the relationship once and it appeared on both resources. But, should I continue to use Related Resources when this Warning appears in the Arches user doc: [X] I therefore created the same relationship using the resource-instance datatype, like this: [X] But although this creates a relationship from Monument to Person (Actor), it doesn't create a relationship from Person (Actor) to Monument, i.e.: Monument resource has relationship to Person (Actor): [X] But, Person (Actor) has no relationship to Monument: [X] Do you have to create the relationship on BOTH records? (With Related Resources it appears that creating a relationship on one resource then automatically creates it on the other record.) Before the team here embark on creating relationships between resources I want to make sure we using the best route for v5.1 onwards, and also that we're creating relationships that 'work both ways' using the most efficient method for doing so. Thanks as ever for advice, Jude. Collections Information Manager Manx National Heritage Isle of Man -- -- To post, send email to [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>.
