I've been posting WSO2 questions to Stackoverflow, but I don't think it's
an appropriate forum for community based support. Stackoverflow is a site
for asking only development related questions - the WSO2 site does say that
Stackoverflow should only be used for programming/development questions but
it's tempting to ask other types of questions as there's nowhere else to
ask them.

I personally have lots of non-development questions, for example,
conceptual or architectural, that don't meet the requirements for posting
on Stackoverflow. I've also seen several questions that were closed as
off-topic or as not meeting the criteria for questions on the site.

Some of the mailing lists have not been used for over a year and the only
list that seems to be used frequently is the Architecture list. But I don't
know if it's only meant to be used by WSO2 contributors and employees or if
it can be used by anyone to ask general architecture questions. Still that
leaves many questions that may not fall under the "architecture" category.

So I created a Google group for wso2-users for community based
question-answer sessions. I'm not trying to fragment the community (and
apologies if that happens) or take users away from Stackoverflow (though
that could be an unintended side effect). I'm trying to create a community
that allows discussions of all kinds, not just development.

Obviously there are no users on this new forum and if I offend anyone by
creating it, or if you feel it's not necessary then I'll gladly remove it.

As a side note, I'm only prototyping a product re-design with WSO2 and
we're not actively using it yet. I don't think I'll be able to use all of
the WSO2 components but I'm hoping to use the API Manager to begin with.

Comments welcome.
Thanks
Mike
