Most of these methods are from the old clustering API. We can get rid of some of them such as getAliveMemberCount. Also, isSync indicates that it is a blocking message sending where a response can be received on the same channel. We cannot generically implement that with all clustering frameworks, so let's drop the isSync param. We are not using it anyway with the current Hazelcast based implementation.
