With Stream Processor 4.0, we have added support to RDBMS, HBase, MongoDB, and Solr. We are still working in Progress with Cassandra.
As of now, I don't see a reason why you can't use Cassandra with APIM 3.0. When APIM analytics related scripts and Cassandra Store implementation are ready we will be able to validate them against Cassandra and give recommendations.
