It looks to me like many people were subscribed to the old list with more than one address, so despite judicious application of `remove*`, it may be the case that you've already subscribed to the new group, in which case you may cheerfully ignore this message.
Also please note that this invitation "expires" after a week, and that Google unhelpfully then puts you on a list of Very Bad Persons; if you try to sign up for the group more than a week from now and get a "you are not welcome" message, send me e-mail and I'll "revoke" your invitation, which is apparently necessary to allow you to sign up.
