Just as an additional heads-up, the upgrade to 2.8.0 does *require* a full reindex for everything to work properly as noted in the “Configurations and Migrations” section of the v2.8.0 Release Notes<https://github.com/archivesspace/archivesspace/releases/tag/v2.8.0>.

Saving the record is triggering a reindex of that record, so what you want to do is a complete reindex which you can trigger by deleting the files in indexer_state and indexer_pui_state.
