It's a shame these issues don't turn up in the main builds. It seems
perverse, but I wonder if it's worth running the Hudson builds in two
modes - a 'people with new shiny laptops' mode and a 'people with old
laptops' mode. We could do this by applying load to the system while the
build was running, or perhaps we might be able to find an open source
concurrency testing tool. The results might drive us crazy with
intermittent failures for a while, but perhaps in the long run it would
get us to a stage where an arbitrary developer could do a checkout from
subversion and get a clean maven build first time - which has to be our
long term goal, I imagine?
