That's great, Srinivasa, extra help is always welcome in open source projects. In Apache, the way you typically get involved with a project is by starting to become active on the mailing list and raise JIRA's. Then you may want to start contributing content by providing patches to bugs and possibly writing documentation or other project website content. After some time, once someone has been active they can be voted in as a committer. How this happens is slightly different from project to project. Getting back to your questions, the aries project contains some pretty advanced technology, however the project is currently at incubation so from a project lifecycle point of view it's still in its infancy.
