Hi, What we have done in Sling and Felix is to not actually export the wiki to the root but to a sub tree (site) and have an index.html in the root which redirects.
Then we can maintain the rest of the site as usual by checking into SVN and updating (either directly or with svnpubsub) the site. Hope this helps.
