the foam idea is nice and the video is cool, but need to look at
costs [1]
waterproofing
serviceability (is the led blinking?).

riding the eco train is tricky business. machining ,glue and
waterproofing wood can prove costlier to environment then buying a
mass made box that will last for years and can be repurposed later in
life.
