A professor of mine in grad school once listed them on the board in micro.
I can't remember what they are, but this reminds me of a friend of mine
from grad school.
He was extremely brilliant, insightful and intuitive but very eccentric.
He kept odd hours, often staying up for 2 or 3 days, working on problems.
So he often looked like a mess and sometimes fell asleep in class.
Well, the day my professor wrote the top 10 puzzles on the board, my friend
was sleeping in class and he woke up just before the class ended. He saw
the 10 puzzles on the board and hurriedly wrote them down and ran out of
class.
He came to class the next day and said to the professor, "I am the best
student you have ever had in this class and maybe the most promising grad
student in the country, but even I could only solve 7 of those homework
problems you wrote on the board yesterday."
