1) Have there been any attempts to measure the shipments of durable goods to the Third World by immigrants? I have noticed that Mexicans who travel home tend to carry these huge boxes of stuff with them to give to their families. 2) Has any one measured the impact of this flow of goods on the economies of towns and whatnot? I imagine that immigrants send home the goods because they are otherwise hard to get. -fabio
