That may well be so, but the story you pointed us to does not support it
(speaking of unwarranted inferences <g>).  Dr. Brothers did not say that
drinking causes wealth.  She did point out that _some others_ might,
seeing the results, might make the bad inference in order to justify
heavier drinking.  You do not, I trust, think that she is wrong to think
that just that, alas, might happen.
