Having a better look at the u-boot environment it appears that it fetches variables from text files present in the boot partition so it's fixed. Last night I was able to boot and get to a login prompt. I had no usb keyboard so all I was able to do was turn it off again. I'll clean up the wiki page asap. Ciao David
