Hi,

previously a few people have reported problems when generating PNGs
using the new built-in cairo device. From the NEWS file of R v2.8.0
*patched* [http://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/base/NEWS.R-2.8.0pat]
their is one bug fix that might fix this problem:

BUG FIXES
    ...
o bmp(), jpeg(), and png() on unix with type="cairo" would segfault
on closure if the output file could not be opened.

So, in case you experience segfaults/core dumps when running the
ChromosomeExplorer or ArrayExplorer, try to update to a newer version
of R v2.8.0 *patched*. If anyone notices that this solves the
problem, please let us know.

Cheers

Henrik
