Even I felt that "Durga Pooja Theme" didnot have that desired "bangla" effect. I am a south indian but spend good part of my life in west bengal and tripura, where I have seen lots of durga poojas and pandals. But this theme didnot give me a Deja Vu feeling. At times it tries to be like pooja beats but is off the mark. Although none of the instruments seem to be new age instruments ..but sounds very modern. Couldnt relate to a durga pooja of 30's or 40's.
But other songs of Bose are class apart. My pick is Zikr & Ghoomparani. Other songs and themes are also very good with our national anthem being the pick of all the themes.
