Dear Noman,
To be very truthful, I didnt understand the exact meaning of most of the song. But I could grasp that its got a very deep and sacred meaning. From the tune and the rendition, its very evident that its a sacred song, and the effect it had on me despite my not understanding the lyrics, just enforces the point. Listening to the chant 'Hasb-e-Rabi Jallallah...' is indeed very soothing.
I am under the impression that 'Zikr' means 'mention', as in 'kisi baat ka zikr karnaa'. But from the lyrics of this song 'zikr aman hain, zikr hai fateh'. I get a feeling its not the right meaning.
And thats the very reason I'm eager to know the meaning of the song, so that I can understand the true beauty of the lyrics.
I'd be very grateful to you if you'd kindly translate the song, into Hindi or English, whichever language can do more justice to the meaning of the Arabic lyrics (I feel Hindi would be closer, but maybe the exact words do exist even in English !)
