Well guys, I don't want to give a head for a head and an eye for an eye. So, lets not argue about who is a 'better' music director and who is not, or who copies tunes. I am a big fan of Rahman and it happens many times that I get overwhelmed with emotions while listening to his compositions. I've learnt some guitar and have made a few compositions to be played on guitar; to be played together on voilin and guitar; or to be sung. Earlier, I used to be a fanatic, blindly believing that Rahman is the only person who composes music, rest all are of no calibre. But its of recent that I have learnt to see, that no one single person is perfect; that every person has highs and lows, in every field and that any creative idea whether it has come from A.R. Rahman, or Bappi Lahiri, it is laudable. I don't think Mr. Rahman himself would disagree upon this. But its human tendency to look at people who are either boastful or show-offs to be of lower calibre, no matter how fine compositions they come up with. And good intentions and humble nature is appreciated. Look at Mr. Rahman, he is so very polite, modest and humble in any interview or his talks with singers who sing for him (You must have heard singers saying this about him). Also in one of the very old posts in this group, I had read an article in which Rahman and Illayaraja had their say about "originality". Having read that article, and seeing his attitude, I have a great respect for Mr. Rahman. But I do enjoy good compositions of other composers too.
