Deepa Mehta has completed the shooting of her new film �Water�, which had gone on the floors in 2000 at Varanasi but could not progress due to attacks on the unit by the fundamentalists . The film is now complete and is scheduled to release in November .
�Water� has been shot in Sri Lanka and even the star cast has been changed . Shabana Azmi has been replaced by Seema Biswas , Lisa Ray has come in place of Nandita Das and John Abraham has stepped into the role which was to have been done by Akshay Kumar . A.R. Rahman has provided the musical score for the film and the distribution rights have been given to Ajay Virwani .
