Check out the music for Bunty aur Bubly by SEL and the latest Paheli by MM Kreem. Amazing how Rahman's style of composing, arragnements, and use of instrumentation has become so widespread and reflected in other MD's works. Not to take away anything from SEL and Kreem, but they both have obviously taken some pages from ARR's book. Paheli, for example, very folkish and classical based Rajasthani music reminds me of Lagaan in many places, though not as good. His use of flute, Santoor, Shehnai, Sitar, and other rustic sounds and drums is very Rahmanesque. A tribute to Rahman no doubt, whether intended or not.
By the way, I keep having dreams that I am meeting with Rahman and being very emotional when meeting him. It is such a dream of mine to meet him, as it is for many of you I am sure. I just wish I could tell him personally how much his music means to me and what a significant and postiive impact his music and his personality have had on my life. ------------------------ Yahoo!
