friends,

someone asked for the translation of the article appeared in EENADU newspaper. though i am not giving exact sentence-to-sentence translation, i shall try to convey the points mentioned in the article..but i want to make it clear that the article is utter trash..and also, it shouldnt be taken seriously as it reflects the views of just one writer..or just 1 telugu newspaper...who probably wanted to fill up the space in the newspaper.

lastly--> IT IS JUST A VIEW...SO, THERE IS NO POINT IN WE PPLE DISCUSSING THIS ARTICLE...IT WUDNT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE AFTERALL.

the article:

someone people who attribute success to their talent change the tune when faced by a failure. a.r.rahman is one of them.struck by failures, these days, he is displaying philosophical moods. "i am not dreaming about impossibles bcoz if they dont happen, mental/emotional lows follow up", he says.the composer who won international acclaim, started off with ROJA and within no time attracted many national awards.but these days, his career is going through a lean phase with no hits in hindi and tamil. Bhagath singh, New(naani in telugu), Yuva and the latest, BOSE have flopped in terms of music/audio sales. Even the films didnt do well.even though Swades was appreciated by some audience, rahman didnt get any credit (award) as the film bombed at box-office.
however, the craze for his music hasnt changed a bit in countries abroad.having attracted many with webber's "bombay dreams", he is now composing music for "lord of the rings " and also composed music for a chinese film.with impressive projects like these, he has been able to preserve the craze he has won.but back home, directors like Shankar are trying out with younger pple like harris jayraj.rahman says," oppurtunities will come..i shall work hard to utilize them". to sum up, he has to work a lot harder..to win back that lost glory.

friends, i am sure this writer is unaware of the facts..that rahman won 2 filmfare awards for best background score so far..ie.,. for bhagath singh and swades.i dont think any mainstream composer has won that so far..so where is the question of rahman not getting credit? and secondly, from when did Music sales become top priority for rahman admirers..if music sales were to count..then some of the most fabulous/most loved scores like 1947,zubeida, tehzeeb and meenaxi have had miserable sales. Bose is the latest in that list. still..the quality of music never went down..they are of separate class. for us atleast, articles like these or sales-numbers shouldnt be of any importance at all..coz we love his music...not the numbers..and as long as he delivers that, what more do we need!

i hope this wouldnt spark off a debate about the unjust comments/opinions by the author of the article. lets accept it.... his opinions werent right at all..so what? thats the end of it. we neednt discuss it further at all, coz we gain nothing out of it..except for increasing the number of mails within our club.it fetches nothing.instead, lets discuss about the technical aspects about his music, which i think would be more informative.

aakarsh.
