Dear Friends One by one we are getting the news about BOSE movie reviews, while everyone agrees that the music is good, I saw the movie and I liked it very much.
Yes, the movie has been packaged as a very simple one. Some of the critics who have trashed the movie in newspapers were probably expecting one or two ITEM songs in it, and the typical masala. Since they did not find it in this simple, true to the NETAJI lifestyle, narration, they have made nasty remarks. Dear friends, go and watch the movie. Whatever I knew about Netaji, I find that I knew very little about him. He was truely a visionary man, much ahead of his times and hughly great person compared to other leaders. My respect for Netaji has grown in millions of multiples after seeing the dramatised version in the movie. Mr Benegal, you have done a great job by remaining honest to the subject and for sensitive handling of tricky issues in the life of Netaji. Well done to the entire team!! However I was a little bit disappointed as I found that ARR songs have not got a due share in the movie. No doubt, with a larger than life story about Netaji, other issues do get secondary treatment. Except the Durga pooja song, All other songs were shown in the background and that too for max 1 stanza. I was looking for something more than that. But after seeing the entire movie twice, I understand the reason for giving the 13-14 tracks of instrumental pieces in the CD. Because the full movie is having these instrumental pieces spread over the key situations. Overall definitely a good movie in the current lot. Go and see it all of you even if Hindi is not understood by some or many of you. It is about Netaji and how he sacrificed his life for a free India for all of us !
