Great writeup, Jitesh.  Just two minor points to note 

Julie was by Rajesh Roshan , Amazing music and many people do remember
Lakshmi in a mini skirt in that movie .;-)

Also RD Burman was going strong in the 80's also. His health started
deteriorating towards the late 80's but he did produce gems like
"Saagar".
