Bollywood Storm hits Australia

A.R. Rahman is unquestionably the foremost name in Bollywood music today.
"Melodic genius" was an admiring comment from Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber on A.R. Rahman and his music. Rahman's recent achievement has been to create fresh, unconventional and vibrant music for Webber's Broadway staged "Bombay Dreams" - a tribute to the Indian movie musical. Rahman's international reputation as a creative composer has since grown and he has accepted to compose music for the theatre production of "Lord of the Rings".
The Qantas SigaramTV A. R. Rahman Tour of Australia provides an excellent opportunity for Australian audiences to hear, to see and to be a part of the best Bollywood extravaganza - a showcase for the talent of the 50 plus artists and dancers from India including Hariharan, Shankar Mahadevan, Sadhana Sargam, Alka Yagnik, Chitra, Kailesh Kher and Sivamani.
Each patron will be provided with a pair of 3D goggles on entry to the concert. Patrons can view and listen to the concert like any other live concert. Patrons may also wear the glasses and experience the feeling of being close to the artists. When asked about the 3D concept in a media interview on Monday 13 June, A. R. Rahman said "This is a new concept and the best way to experience it is to come and watch the show and see for yourself"!!
CHARINDAA is proud to be associated with A.R. Rahman as he is involved in several charities and has recently taken up the position of United Nations Ambassador for the fight against tuberculosis.
The concerts in Australia are being organised by CHARINDAA to raise funds for Udayan, the Child Leprosy Centre in Kolkata, India. Steve Waugh, former captain of the Australian Cricket Team, is the Chief Patron of Udayan. Steve Waugh proudly supports the "Qantas SigaramTV A. R. Rahman 3rd Dimension Tour of Australia" and has promised to attend at least one concert of the Tour.
