As I listen to the Rising, I cannot help but feel great to be a fan of tasteful music. As far as I am concerned, there is no musician in India and perhaps the world for that matter who creates more diverse and tasteful music than Rahman. Consider the difference between a soundtrack like Yuva and The Rising. Can you think of any other musician who can score such two distinctly different genres of music with command? His talents are still underestimated and many of his best compositions are ignored or still unknown, which is a shame. It is also disgraceful that his compositions are not given full justice on the screen very often. I do hope that he gets a commercial break soon and that his king status is restored once again in the general public's eye, even though his top status among lovers of classy music have not diminished at all.
Whatever people's tastes and biases, he will always be remembered as path breaking cross over artist and musician and one of the most influential musicians ever in India. With some very promising projects ahead to look forward to, the legend will continue and we will be the lucky ones to experience his music. "Music of A.R.
