Just a suggestion...If u dont want to spent time on converting those mp3s then just use Foobar2000 with "channel mixer" plugin. Foobar2000 is the best free audio player out there with very low memory usage & with this plugin u can enjoy the surround effect in real time when the song is playing. It gives really good surround effect. I have 4.1 Creative speakars & with this combi i can really hear the rear channels giving me the diff sounds then the front...this is just awsome plugin...Im not sure that is this what u want but give it a try...both r free & very small downloads...
