If you can keep a song interesting, it can be enjoyable even if it is 10 minutes (satrangi re for example, or ishq bina, tu hi re)....but, yes too much repitition of style structure can bore you soon. Coming from Sri lanka, where I believe popular songs are rich in melody, but lacks activity, I can vouch that short songs can get boring if it does not inspire a little bit of imagination.
