Yeah, I would definitely miss Sonu and Sukhwinder. And by that bloggers
comments it seems like there were obvious production problems as well. I saw
these same issues in detroit 2 years ago. I am not sure why there ae so many
technical and organizational lapses in these productions. I don't think we
south asians aproach concerts with the professionalism it requires.

No doubt the music is beyond words. But, i'm waiting for the day we pull our
socks up and put on a show that looks professional.

songs? That's rather less considering most ARR concerts so far
>have
had upwards of 35 songs plus the unplugged session with 4-5
>songs. I
guess its because of all the missing singers....
>
>--- In

outstanding show. This show was one of the best things
> > that
have ever happened. Huge turnout of people reaffirmed the fact
> >
that ARR and his music is there in everyone's heart and will be
>
> there forever.
> >
> > The crowd was
exceptional and great. Everyone from young to old
> > seemed to
enjoy each and every minute of the show. Shankar and
> >
Hariharan took the show to a new high by singing some of the
> >
songs in their own inimitable style for instance blending
> >
hindi and tamil songs, alaaps before Pachai Nirame title track .
>
> Even Sadhana Sargam went on to sign off her rendition of the
>
> Chupke se track (Saathiya) with Snehithanae.
> >
>
> Blaaze had everyone on their toes with the title song from New
and
> > also joining Shankar for Humma Humma. ARR was impressive
with
> > Ma Tujhe Salaam and Fanaah.
> > Chinamma
Chilakama failed to excite and saw people taking a break.
> >
Probably they missed the Sukhwinder factor in Daler. Kailash Kher
>
> was inspiring.
> >
> > Alka Yagnik as usual was
in her best and mentioned that
> > she had very few
opportunities to sing for ARR but then when she
> > did, she got
some of the best songs (Saanwariya was her personal
> >
best)
> >
> > The show came to an end with ARR singing
Ma Tujhe Salam and other
> > artistes joining him towards the
end of the song.
> >
> > One of the drawback in this
show was the seating (as pointed out
> > by Neena, not so comfy
seats). but then when the show kicked off
> > I thought who
cares for the seats :)
> >
> > The highlight of the
show was ARRs personal musicians
> > including ace conductor
Srinivas Murthy and Naveen on flute
> >
> > here's a
list of songs performed at the concert:
> >
> > Fanaah

view of the Wembley (London)
> > > concert....
> > >
>
> > > >
> > > > The music was
superb!
> > > >
> > > > First song was Fanna
and the last Vande Matram with lots others in
> > > between.
Humma Humma was like an anthem, as was chaiya chaiya,
> >
ghanan
> > > ghanan, Yeh jo des hai tera, and Vande Matram.
All the other songs
> > > from Roja, Bombay, Yuva, Meenaxi,
Kisna, Mangal Pandey, Sathiya and
> > > some tamil songs (sorry
don't know Tamil) were very enjoyable too.
> > > >
>
> > > Shivamani performed solo on his percussions half way through
the
> > > concert and he was simply amazing!
> > >
>
> > > > Male Singers were Kailash Kher, Hariharan,
Naresh Iyer (?)
> > Shanker
> > > Mahadevan, Blaze and
Daler Mendi. I think I spotted Kunal Ganjawala
> > > (or may be
he was a look alike). Female singers: Alka, Sadhna,
> > >
Madhushree, Reena Bhardwaj, Sapna Awasthy (?) and a couple others
>
> > whose names I could not hear.
> > > >
> >
> > All singers were excellent but Daler was very funny as was
Blaze.
> > > Of the female singers, Sadhna Sargam was
outstanding! Sapna Awasthy
> > > was a surprise and she was
absolute fun to have on stage.
> > > >
> > > >
Background dances were very artisitc and added a lot of elegance
>
> to
> > > the entire concert.
> > > >
>
> > > The one thing that spoilt a little bit of enjoyment were
people
> > who
> > > came very late into the hall so
obstructed the view and also the
> > > plastic seats (not very
comfortable) plus a floor that moved when
> > > people got up
and danced and clapped to the songs. But the music
> > was
>
> > so great that these became very minor points of
consideration.
> > > >
> > > > So if I was to
describe the concert in just two words then I would
> >
say:
> > > >
> > > > Awesome and
Exquisite
> > > >
> > > > So if you are still
thinking of going to the Birmingham concert or
> > > have missed
the one in London (Wembley), you still have a chance
> > >
tomorrow (provided you are in the UK) to see and enjoy the show in
>
> > Birmingham. I wish I could be there tomorrow as well but
