hi friend
i totally agree with u
and most of the fans (even from this group as well) became
rahman's fans in their young age when they were in the college
it was rahman's rocking music(specially of western style) which
compelled them to be his fan
and later on they discovered that the man is equilly capable of
composing music of another categories as well

my point is that let us take the example of cricket
sachin tendulkar was once considered the god of indian cricket
but see now, sehwag and all this new stuff has dominated his popularity
the obvoius reason is that he has stopped his high attackive style
and players like sehwag are doing that and are taking his place

the same theory applies to the music industry as well
illaiya raja was the prominent MD of south india
but rahman's entry made all the new generation to divert to rahman's
side
and now when rahman has stopped giving fast beat tracks or new kinda
songs (of course he can not keep giving the same style of music every
time and according to his status its not possible even )
the new generation will divert toward another music directors

the question is not about us, we are die hard fans of arr
but the question is about new generation(schools and colleges)

but what i think is that we can not do anything
it is the rule of nature that one will come and another will have to go
if this was not the case then O P NAYYER or R D BURMAN or NAUSAD ALI
they all could have been famous throughout their life

but do not start worrying at this stage
rahman is young still and he just has started his career in
international arena

bye
