2006 is definitely gonna be a comeback year of sorts for the king of indian music. it's gonna be a musical storm in the indian music circuit i guess and world music if my premonition fires!!.....
some of the man's projects lined up 1)gowarikar's akbar-jodha..... in the entire bollywood...gowarikar is by any means the foremost in terms of those giving importance to arr's music. he doesnt chop of the songs and does full justice by using the songs as part of his narrative. looking forward to what is being touted as a future magnum opus...lets hope that rahman overtakes naushad sahib ...and lets hope it turns out well.... 2)rakesh mehra's rang de basanti...starring aamir...well this is a contemporary film with a social issue abt todays youth being delinked from social issues.... something like arr's forte...looking forward to hearing daler's anthem...!! and i heard he's used a lot of modern sounds for this sound track.... 3)the lord of the rings......what more can i say!! 4)shankar's sivaji...(inshallah!!) 5)conference of the birds....looking forward to arr's answer to thiruvaasagam.... 6)shyam benegals' chamki starring urmila....this is gonna be an outright musical by the baap of indian parallel cinema...but hopefully he wont chop of the songs like what he did for bose!! 7)mani sir's untitled project scripted by farrukh dondy 8)ksr's dasavatharaam...hopefully ...but he shudnt be intimidated by the fact that kamal prefers ilayaraja !! but this is yet to be confirmed 9)jillendru oru kaathal....might be a good one considering surya's market and this being a home production.... 10)rajiv menon's untitled project 11)shekhar kapur's buddha...but i am not sure abt this.. 12)there's also talk of an album to be launched by arr soon...so looking forward to that so guys are u ready for a roller coaster ride next year...i guess so...and plz be prepared cos its gonna rain rahman all over unlike ever b4 !! ar rahman hasnt won a filmfare award in tamil since 2001...and thatz a long time for someone who won 8 on the trot!! its time he corrects this anomaly too and hopefully he shud take the national award soon...god willing jai rahman hussain ------------------------ Yahoo!
