Well in my humble opinion there was bias in this years
award function.I think the jury felt that since ARR
has already won so many filmfare awards for the best
musical score it was time to give it to someone
else.But personally i was shocked that ARR did not get
the award.I had taken for granted that he will be
winning it for swades.But eventually i was dumbfounded
by the result.What made it even more agonising was the
fact that it was awarded to a composer like Anu Malik
who is notoriously famous for lifting tunes.Had the
award been given for Veer Zaara I would have been
somewhat satisfied.But this was really terrible.Main
Hoon Na music was run of the mill stuff.Swades
wasn't.It seems our boss wont be winning next year as
well.I had hope Mangal will get him the award but the
way critics have been tearing the movie and music
apart it would be a miracle if he won it.Well there is
rang de basanti.It is a commercial potboiler so I
think Rahman would have done well.But even then I will
keep my fingers crossed.If it releases by the end of
this year and if the album is a hit then we can still
hope of rahman winning next year
