My mom was reading through current edition of malayalam magazine "Grihalaxmi". That had an interview with Minmini (Chinna chinna aasai girl).
She was telling how she lost her voice after singing that song. She couldnt even speak for 6 months leave alone singing. She recalls that media spread news like she had throat cancer etc which was all false. Even doctors in Appolo and London dont know the reason.
She was also recollecting the tough time she had when she again ventured back into singing with karuthamma. She was doing it all wrong and was tensed. By that time ARR had become a big personality. But he asked her to keep cool and try again. His words were ..:"Dont get tense ... take as much time as you want .. As it is my studio I need not pay rent to anybody" So nice of him. Such a gem of a man.
She also talk of IR. When he heard that she was unwell he called her and said you need to get well and sing for me. That was the time when singers used to wait for long periods to get a change from IR. The goodness is both the men have really pushed them to the league of legends.
