Members from the group were intimately involved the organization of the Bangalore concert. For most of us it has been a back-breaking 2 days, but the effort was worth every bit of it, not just for the fantabulous concert which Rahman being uncharacteristically expressive not just in speech but also in action, doing things like punching the air, and slinging a keyboard over his shoulder and walking around the stage playing it, but also for the big big moment when ARR came over to meet the group. All it took was one request for him to come down and declare "I am not leaving this place till everyone of you gets a chance" (to take a photograph with him).
Every bit you have heard about this man's modesty, humility, patience, grace and simplicity is true and more. The same qualities seem to percolate into every singer and musician who works with him, be it H Sridhar, Naveen, Blaaze or anyone else. At this moment, my mind is swirling with thoughts of the ectatic moments experienced over the last two days. It will be a while before the coalesce into something coherent and I can pen it down.
