Hi all,
We were a gang of about 15 people, few from bangalore and the rest from Chennai and Coimbatore who came for the bangalore concert. Most of us know a liitle about music and also about who are the instrumentalists in arr's team. In the bangalore concert, everyone gave credit to ARR, the singers, organiser... It would be totally unfair if the instrumentalists are ignored.... so here is what we felt about them.
Mr. Siva Mani: His solo piece is more than sufficient to define or praise him.
Mr. Naveen (Fulte):
I myself play flute in my college. Since i'm from a middle class family, i cannot afford to import metal flutes. I love Chinnama Chillakamma ( Meenaxi ). I always thought that the starting flute piece was actually played in a keyboard because it was at such an High pitch that cannot be reached in most bamboo flutes ( i don't know about metal flutes ). But i was flabbergasted to c him play it. He played flute in many songs which didn't have a flute track at all and they were all awesome.
Mr. Keith Peters ( Bass Guitar ):
In any orchestra, the most un-noticed person is a bass guitarist. Keith Peters is the best bassi in my point of view. During the concert he was playing on his own, without much reference to notes. We were standing at the last but still we once spotted him talking with Sivamani in the middle of a song while his hands were playing. He was soooooo good at 'slides' and 'slapps' ( terms associated with playing a guitar ).
Srinivas Murthy's Strings orchestra was superb ( esp in in Bombay theme, Sandana thendral from kk )
H. Sridhar and Sivkumar were using the palace grounds as their play ground doing wonderful 'Panning' and other technical sound engineering stuff. The other people ( Those playing sequencer, rhythm pad, guitarists etc ) of the team were equally good in their work.
I honestly feel that most of the instrumentalists in arr's team are the best (or one of the best ) in playing their instruments just as ARR s in music direction.
