"Sakhi Aayo Re"....... Simple yet intricate, mesmerizing yet catchy. Only Rahman...only Rahman....
Despite terrible sound quality, did you guys notice the intricate keyboard playing by Rahman throughout the song? When Sukhwindar sings the "jan janana janana......." part really fast in monotone, notice how Rahman plays the keyboard really fast and intense in some raaga as a counter melody backup, most notibly during the second repetitions of the stanza (could not identify raaga yet due to poor sound, but could be Madhuvanti?). SIMPLY MINBDLOWING!!!!!!!!!! The effect is nothing short of divine. On top of that is the dancing two note piano loop that runs throughout the song. You will hear that most when the song starts. And then, Rahman adds keyboard layers using different swaras to create an absolutely incredible listening experience. God, please let the CD release before Nov 8. I can't wait that long! AMAZINGLY BRILLIANT SONG, and despite the weaving intricacies that run throughout the song, the melody, rhythm, and instrumentations are all very simple, folkish, and catchy. Only Rahman.........only Rahman...... And I love how the percussion is added in the middle. Very typical and awesome of Rahman to add layers of instruments and percussion as a song progresses. Love the emphasis on the dhaga with added volume on many of the transition stanza zones....feels like a live performance..... Forgive my premature enthusiasm before the actual release of the album. "Aayo Re" is a MODERN CLASSIC along with "Piya Ho". I love the rest of the songs too......pure and beautiful. This man........only Rahman......only Rahman......... ------------------------ Yahoo!
