Hi, Incidentally, I just happened to stumble upon an audio casette of 'Andhi Maalai' in "Landmark", Chennai, and though I wasnt sure of how good it would be, picked it up, just because it was one of ARR's (vintage) collections... I just happened to hear first 3 songs from Side-A of this, including the song you've mentioned -- 'Andhi Maalai' sung by S.Janaki, which is actually the same tune as 'EndharO Mahaanu baavulu' - one of Saint Thyagaraja's Pancharatna Keerthanas. Even I remember listening to it during my college days...12 yrs ago ! The other songs on Side-A weren't that impressive :(, but that was ARR 13 yrs ago and those were days when we hadnt even heard of all the jazzy instruments we are used to listening to today...and as always, ARR's music can only grow on you the more you listen to it...
