Is it really a punjabi number? Dude, listen to it carefully..........and listen to the stuff around you..............does it actually fall into the same catagory....I mean just because its been sung by Daler Mehndi......spare a thought for the melody and the amount of hard work that goes into the tune. The fact that Daler Mehndi sounds so spirited on the track is a very very good indication of how good the track will be once you hear it in its full flair.
Until then, even though its your right, refrain from negatives about the track! BTW, may be the situation in the movie demanded a punjabi track, can then ARR impose his own wishes and not do what the director asks him?
