Enjoying RDB for what it is after getting over my initial expectations. Not Rahman's best, but I am enjoying it for what it is, not what I want it to be. Felt disappointed that Rahman didn't go all out with orchestration and sound with this album, but I think that he and Mehra purposely put out a youth oriented, relaxed and less sonically and intricately intense soundtrack than what we are used to hearing from Rahman. Kudos to Rahman for having the guts and courage to experiment and step outside some of his usual boundaries for a much anticipated soundtrack. A lot of his signatures are missing, yet, there are some novel musical concepts there as well as some very new stylistic directions. Some unique and interesting compositions in there with an incredible range. Hope the film and music enhance each other well. Really hope the soundtrack sells well and becomes a hit.
