Director Shyam Bengals acclaimed Bose - The Forgotten Hero, which romped home a National award (Nargis Dutt award) for the best film on National Integration this year, is now all set for a re-release on Republic Day, January 26. Confirming the news, director Shyam Benegal said, Yes, I have just received the news and in fact I am having a meeting with the people from Sahara One Motion Pictures (the producers) in the next half an hour. The film, which stars actor Sachin Khedekar as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, was earlier released in May this year but was seen by a very few people because of if its limited release. Adds Benegal, I am delighted and glad that it is being released again and I am hopeful that more people will see it this time. According to the director, not too many prints were made available during its release in May, resulting in the film finding a limited audience for itself. The multiplexes were also not too happy with films length of three-and-half hours as it was cutting down their business. If the audience went for a night show, it would be morning by the time they came out, points out Benegal. Fortunately, a shorter, edited version will be released with more viewer-friendly timings. Sachin Khedekar was pleasantly surprised about the films re-release. He shot back, Oh, on TV you mean? When informed about its theatrical re-release, he remarked, I am very happy. I still maintain that it is a film that needs to be seen by a larger audience. A lot of people could not see it last time because of inconvenient timings of the shows.
