I know a North Indian who loves Mani Ratnam films and even owns some of his Tamil films on DVD. And I know another who listens to ARR's Tamil and Hindi stuff, and even appreciates some of Ilayaraja's work.
Whatever stigma there was about regional music is gone/reduced because of ARR. South Indians in general are more exposed to other language films and music than North Indians, I think. Since childhood I've heard Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi music, and I'm a Tamilian. ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Know an art & music fan?
