hi, rahman sir's fans.... i am a singer. BGM composer and i am mostly very busy...with music... so i am a silent member of this grp....... but i do make a point to read the daily digests of this grp.... and get every possible info/news on RAHMAN sir....when i get time... till now i hav been unable to jump in your discussions ...but this comment by sir Zubin mehta has really put me off.... bcoz it has been said for a guy who is a revolutionary.....visionary......trendsetter.........supergenius..... in world music industry..........he is AR RAHMAN sir........ i certainy feel he has not spoken the truth....
**Sir Zubin Mehta as he is is called...is indeed a very prolific indian musician/arranger/conductor.....who is truly interanational.. he started by playing for composers lakhmikant-pyarelal, and then he moved abroad...and established himself as an ace conductor/arranger he has conducted the following presigious orchestras abroad... Vienna Symphonic,Prague Orchestra,Czech Film orchestra ,Mirosolav Philharmonik and Garritan Orchestra........ his achivements are grt and he is a very respected figure in musical circles of india.... but he has not spoken the truth...........i hav 3 reasons... 1. Zubin worked on score and music of 'MERE WATAN' song from FIZA.....along with Ranjit Barrot....he also sang this song in FIZA......in this film Rahman sir was a guest composer and he gave us ...the PIYA HAJI ALI song ......the rest music of film was by ANU MALIK...the fact that he worked along with Rahman sir on FIZA....makes it hard to belive that he does not heard of him.... 2. Zubin has been a conducter for Prague Orchestra earlier....the fact that Rahman sir worked with Prague Orchestra for score of The Rising and BOSE ...makes it even more difficult to belive he has not heard of him.... 3. Recently Rahman sir worked with Czech film orchestra for WOHE.. i got the photos and link of this on this grp only...we all say those photos..... and since zubin has worked a lot with this orchestra mostly.. puts enough evidence for me to belive that he has not spoken the truth and has acted arrogantly..... how come he has not heard of Rahman sir......when he has worked with same people...... i belive only three people hav recived exceptional fame in music from INDIA...they are ARR sir, PT RAVI SHANKAR and ZUBIN MEHTA... so how come he is saying this for ARR ....who has present in World's TOP 20 composers list also...... this in indeed lies from him......and is very disturbing.... guys keep this discussion going ...i would luv to know what u feel after knowing these facts... this could be the the news of the year.....in music world... its indeed very disturbing though....bcoz it is against ARR..... a man who is my biggest influence and guide.....that's why i call him RAHMAN sir......he is a grt teacher for any musician.... adieu ... abhijazz composer.singer.sound engg.
