This thread has got me booted up. :)

I have fixed set of monitors at home(Audiophile), work (Tannoy and Genelec). "Mangal Pandey" sounded just like most of the other releases before. Same set up started sounding different with "Ah Aah" especially the first song. I usually don't screw around with EQ settings, but this time even after hours of experimentation I still couldn't get the old feel. In the recent albums I feel that whole harmony and rhythm is enveloping the melody and vocals stand out in few songs.

One obvious factor which could affect the whole signal path is the mixer console. Euphonix 5-M Digital vs Neve 88R Analog. Or it could just be a hallucination caused by looking at every music production with a microscope.

I am not an expert to call it a "poorly engineered" sound track. But if it is a sign of things to come, then I will have to ask my ears to get used to it.

Let us see what pro guys in the group has to say about it.
