 i have been a member of this grp for last  few months .this is my first mail though.
today i saw  the special edition of India today celebrating its thirty years.
it contained articles highlighting evry year from1976 to 2006,and guess what the article for the year 1994 was for our boss.
IT was printed in india today jan 15 1994 by kavitha shetty,So they have published it again in this special edition it goes like this

He was paid Rs7 lakh for his last film only 3 lakh less than ilayaraja,the brilliant composer for more than 500 films.
today any rahman composition is expected to sell 1.5 lakh tapes.

Rahman has come a long way since the days he day he played with rock bands in chennai.
Sitting in his studio filled with Rs 1 crore worth gadgettes,he created a new synth sound which makes even ilayarajas folk-classical-western mix painfully passe"
