ARR's recent sales figures with his soundtracks can be debated
repeatedly about how significant, etc. One thing is for sure,
however, sales figures don't talk about his originality and his
ability to quiety set trends, plant new seeds of ideas and styles,
and slowly but surely keep himself distinct and special as an MD. His
name associated with international projects garner him the status and
prestige he deserves, while in India, how somehow manages to be seen
as the best, regardless of sales.

I am convinced that ARR is in no danger of burnout nor his name nor
his music becoming a frenzied fashion that usually is very short
lived. Do I feel that there is room for him to connect with the
masses more? Yes, most definitely. However, I think we will all
discover that his soundtracks like Water, Bose, Swades, Meenaxi, RDB,
regardless of sales numbers, will retain a very long life in the
hearts of many of us and in the hearts of many to come. That is the
beauty of it. Yes, it will help for his music to be more immediately
recognized and to achieve a certain level of popularity, but I
guarantee you that the appeal that his most scintiillating
soundtracks offer will be imbued with longevity and nostalgia. I am
confident that music lovers in the future will regard these and many
other soundtracks of his to be among the finest ever in Hindi cinema.

Whoever came up with this line I think knows what I'm trying to
explain.........."ARR - Let it Grow"
