Hello folks,

I partially agree with Anujit. YSR is growing very well and at an
amazing speed. His compositions are stunningly different, however,
some of them are inspired from some international numbers. I heard
the music of one of the tracks in "Pudhapetti" in a Citibank ad that
comes when u listen to songs on Raaga.com. And I heard this ad
couple of months ago (before Pudhapetti audio was released), which
means, its inspired, if not a complete copy. Nevetheless, I love
many of YSR's songs, esp. I love "Arindham Ariyamulam", this album
is one of my all time favourites apart from many of ARR's albums
(difficult to list them down :-) ) and "Minnale". Even I do not
understand Tamil, since I am from Andhra Pradesh. But Rahman's music
made me foray into tamil music and I found that many others,
directly or indirectly inspired Rahman, are coming up with better
tunes day by day. I used to rate Harris as the next big thing in
Indian music after (and only after) ARR when I heard "Minnale", but
YSR is growing much better than Harris.

I think bollywood directors should start utilizing these growing
tamil talent, thus reducing the load on ARR. They are definitely not
a replacement for ARR, but since there is "only one good" composer
in bollywood, all the "good" film-makers are coming to him only, so
atleast composers like YSR & Harris, (who are 100 times better than
Himesh Reshmaiyya or Anu Mallik, I am saying YSR is 100 times better
than Anu Mallik, now think can I even compare anyone with our boss?)
can be utilised by them. Especially, I dont like Rahman to work for
directors like Ahmed Khan (Lakeer - The Forbidden Lines). Such
people, being ARR's fans like us, might be requesting our boss so
much that he accepts their offers (u can see his humbleness and
generosity here). These directors can go down to south, since even
Harris' and YSR's music is beyond being regional (remember that
RHTDM is musically a big hit, though the movie bombed).

But till today, except, Ilayaraja & MM Kreem (his hindi music is
just uncomparable with his telugu music, listen to Sur & Jism and
then listen to his telugu "funny" songs, though he did made some
good telugu numbers too), ARR is the only successful South Indian MD
making it big in bollywood.

I wish YSR to grow more, but also to be more original, so that he
can help "our-kind-of" music get more popular in the days to come
than the typical "Jhalak Dhiklaja" ones.

I will wait for ur comments and thoughts.

Cheers,
Srinath.
