Hi, The song is actually Kanavaa illai kaatra.Its an amazing piece sung by Srinivas.Starts of in i think Saraswati raag and ends in amir kalyani(i may be wrong :) )The mridangam in the song is simply outstanding.Notably,in all ARR songs in which the Mridangam has been used,it has been used very differently,ie. in an innovative beat structure(eg. Minsaara poove,thottal poo malarum,uyirum neeye,margazhi poove to name a few),xcept maybe "pal pal" in Swades. This song(kanavaa) is particularly close to me as it won me 2 prizes in singing competitions:)
